Reflecting on 2021: Achievements and Future Focus

In 2021, Institute for Education and Human Development (EDI) faced unprecedented challenges due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, which forced us to swiftly transition from in-person education to remote learning. The shift posed significant hurdles, including resource limitations due to pandemic-related costs and revenue losses, equipment and workspace constraints for trainees, and misunderstandings about new teaching methods. Despite these obstacles, our dedicated staff, trainers, and trainees overcome these challenges, enabling us to deliver an exceptional range of training programs for TH School teachers and staff.

1. Teacher Development Programs

Effective Online Teaching Techniques

Adapting to online teaching can be daunting, requiring a shift from traditional methods to more dynamic, interactive approaches. Our “Effective Online Teaching Methodology” program was designed to equip TH School teachers with innovative strategies and tools to engage students effectively in the virtual classroom. The program empowered educators to navigate the complexities of online instruction with confidence and creativity.

Be Internet Aware

While the Internet offers vast educational resources, it also presents significant risks to unprepared users. Our “Be Internet Aware” program provided teachers with the knowledge and skills to navigate these challenges. Teachers were trained to develop and implement activities that promote internet safety, ensuring students are well-prepared to use the web responsibly and securely.

Project-Based Learning for Enhanced Student Engagement

Project-based learning (PBL) is a powerful, student-centered approach that encourages deep learning and cultivates students' unique talents. Our training program focused on the core principles of PBL, guiding teachers in the design and execution of meaningful projects tailored to their students' needs. This hands-on method of learning allowed educators to foster creativity and collaboration in their classrooms.

2. Staff Training Programs

Enhancing English Proficiency in the workplace

In an international environment like TH School, strong English communication skills are crucial for success. To meet this need, we introduced the “Enhance English Proficiency in the Workplace” program. This course was tailored to help staff improve their language skills, facilitating better collaboration, and creating stronger relationships among staff members, ultimately contributing to a more positive and efficient working environment.

Effective Communication based on Understanding

Effective communication is key to professional success, whether it is with colleagues, students, or parents. Our “Effective Communication Based on Understanding” program offered TH School staff and teachers tools and techniques to communicate more clearly, empathetically, and effectively. By focusing on understanding and mutual respect, this program fostered better interactions and stronger workplace relationships.

Despite the challenges 2021 brought, our commitment to providing top-tier professional development remained unwavering. The success of these programs is a testament to the dedication of our trainers and participants alike. As we move forward, we remain focused on continuing to innovate and adapt to ensure our courses and activities meet the evolving needs of the educational profession
